Visually impaired YouTuber WonShot Hansol (Kim Hansol) personally spoke out amid a flood of attention ranging from rumors of participating in Elon Musk's brain chip clinical trial to dating rumors with a PD.
Recently, WonShot Hansol posted a video on his YouTube channel saying "I woke up and I'm number one in the news.. I'll explain everything" to clarify misunderstandings surrounding him.
Earlier, Kim Hansol drew attention by saying he directly applied for the clinical trial of Neuralink's vision-restoration technology "Blindsight," led by Elon Musk. Blindsight is a technology that helps the brain, not the eyes, perceive visual information by implanting a small chip in the brain to stimulate the visual cortex. However, as the news spread, various speculations followed as if Kim Hansol had already gone to the United States and received the brain chip surgery.
In response, Kim Hansol laughed, "I haven't even packed yet. My passport is still in the drawer at home," adding, "I was surprised when I saw the article. I was almost portrayed as someone who had already gone to the U.S. and had the chip implanted." He also directly addressed a photo circulating online that showed him with Elon Musk. He said, "That photo is AI. But friends contacted me asking, 'When did you go to the U.S.,' and 'If your vision returns, tell me so I can buy the stock,'" expressing his bewilderment.
It is currently reported that Kim Hansol has not been confirmed as a clinical participant. He explained, "I only applied. I haven't received an email yet," adding, "People with visual impairments around the world probably applied, so it won't be easy. I'm waiting."
Meanwhile, Kim Hansol recently shared another welcome piece of news: he revealed his romantic relationship with producer Jung Min, who co-runs the channel. The two have been creating content together for about four years and said their relationship began as fan and creator before developing into a romantic one.
Kim Hansol said sincerely, "I started YouTube because of my disability, Jung Min watched that YouTube channel, came to find me, and that became a good connection," adding, "So in a way, my disability has become my strength," earning much support.
