'Kim Seon-tae' former Chungju man YouTuber Kim Seon-tae captured both entertainment and real-world issues while making a donation.
On the 22nd, Kim Seon-tae uploaded a "donation promotion" video to his YouTube channel. Kim Seon-tae appeared holding a camera at the place where he first uploaded a video in early March. Kim Seon-tae said, "I am going to make a donation. Until now I have actually donated together with corporations. Because I'm donating from my real account, I feel stingy" and bowed his head deeply.
He said, "It is a lot of money to me. I worked for 10 years and then left. I have never spent the money I earned in a big way. Even when I spent a lot, it was only about 2,000 americanos," he said. He even honestly confessed his petty-minded side, saying, "Not long ago I mixed vitamins with water and drank them. Is it right to be this frugal? I suddenly felt a strong pang of reality."
Where did he donate? It was Chungju Medical Center. Kim Seon-tae said, "I know donating to Seoul Asan Medical Center or Samsung Medical Center would look impressive. But living in Chungju, I plainly know how poor Chungju's emergency medical care is, and putting that off to donate to Seoul felt a bit off," revealing the desperation of someone who, having been a public servant, could not close his eyes to the realities he knew so well.
Kim Seon-tae appealed, "Local emergency medical care is in very poor condition," adding, "In cases such as cerebrovascular disease and severe trauma, survival rates are low. I hope at least emergency medical care can be improved." He then wrapped up clearly with a joke, saying, "My plan going forward is that since I donated, I will extract more. I will earn more. And I will donate more."
