Actor Oh Jung-se is getting reactions saying, 'I can't even grasp how much more he wants to succeed.' Recently in the drama We Are All Trying Here, the movie Wild Sing and other works, he has shown divinely possessed performances that literally 'replace his face' every time, and this time he transforms into a 'cross-dressing human weapon' to display a singular chameleon charm.
MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Fifties Professionals' announced today (on the 22nd) that it released stills of the first meeting 10 years earlier that changed the fates of Jeong Ho-myeong (played by Shin Ha Kyun), Bulgye (played by Oh Jung-se) and Kang Beom-ryong (played by Heo Sung-tae), raising viewers' expectations.
Fifties Professionals tells the story of three men who seemed ordinary but had some swagger and are set in motion again by fate. It is a salty action comedy about professionals who have run 50% of their lives, battered by the world and with bodies rusted but whose loyalty and instincts remain alive. The project drew early attention with director Han Dong-hwa, who demonstrated outstanding directing in the drama Shadow Detective series and Navillera, meeting the trusted cast lineup of Shin Ha Kyun, Oh Jung-se and Heo Sung-tae.
The released stills depict a suffocating tension as the NIS black agent Ho-myeong and North Korean operative Bulgye face off on a passenger ship on a night of pouring rain. Ho-myeong stares at Bulgye with a wary, sharp gaze, and Bulgye meets him with an unflinching poker face, exuding an unusual aura.
What particularly seizes the eye is Bulgye's shocking visual before he lost his memory. Curiosity is piqued about why he, once called the finest human weapon born in North Korea, even went so far as to cross-dress and be deployed on a mission. Oh Jung-se, who recently showed a limitless acting spectrum across screen and television, perfectly pulled off this unprecedented character of 'cross-dressing action.' Added to this is the appearance of Beom-ryong, the No. 2 of the Hwasan faction, and the overwhelming atmosphere produced by the three actors in the rain-soaked action delivers intense immersion.
The production team said, "This scene shows Ho-myeong, Bulgye and Beom-ryong 10 years earlier heading out to obtain an item containing evidence of collusion between a high-ranking North Korean official and Han Kyung-wook (played by Kim Sang-kyung), the NIS first deputy director," and added, "Please check in the first broadcast how the three men's fates are later overturned and where the secret item they were pursuing disappeared to."
