The group BTS covered a U.S. stadium in the Taegeukgi.
BTS held "BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN STANFORD" at Stanford Stadium in the United States on the 16th–17th and 19th (local time) and met about 152,000 spectators. The originally scheduled concert sold out immediately after ticket sales opened, prompting the addition of one extra show, which also sold out at record speed. BTS is the second performer in history to hold a solo concert at Stanford Stadium, which opened in 1921, following Coldplay.
On the last day of the concert, local audiences staged a surprise event. During the performance of "Body to Body," a track from their fifth studio album, when the melody of the folk song "Arirang" played, fans waved the Taegeukgi they had prepared and created a spectacle by singing in Korean in unison. The members said they were having the best moment of their lives, that they were truly moved by the event the fans showed, that they would remember every moment, and that they wanted to express their thanks while promising to meet again.
BTS, successfully conducting their North American tour, announced their Asia and Australia tour schedule through fan community Weverse on the 22nd. Beginning in Kaohsiung this November, they will perform 23 shows in nine cities. In particular, on Feb. 20 and 21 next year, they will become the first Korean singer to enter Accor Stadium in Sydney, Australia, which has hosted global pop stars such as Adele and Taylor Swift, writing another new chapter.
Meanwhile, BTS will continue their tour at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, U.S., for four days on the 23rd–24th and 27th–28th. On the 25th they will attend the American Music Awards (AMAs). They were nominated this year for artist of the year, which is equivalent to the grand prize at the awards, as well as song of the summer and best male K-pop artist, and the world is watching to see whether they can take home the top prize for the second time since 2021.
