PD Na Young-seok made a surprising confession that drew attention.
On the 22nd, the YouTube channel Brewmaster Yun posted a video titled "Na PD came to Yoonjudang! Why are you here? Still, it's so amazing no matter how many times I watch it."
On that day, PD Na Young-seok visited chef Yoon Na-ra's Yoonjudang (Brewmaster Yun/hereinafter "Yoonjumo") and spent time talking. Yoonjumo mentioned Lee Seo-jin, Cha Seung-won, Jeong Yu-mi and others from Na Young-seok's team and asked if there was anyone among them to whom he felt particularly attached.
In response, PD Na Young-seok confessed, "I was originally a cold person, and I think I remained that way until 2 Days & 1 Night," adding, "I hated keeping personal, human friendships with so-called celebrities; I was a PD who absolutely loathed it," which surprised listeners.
PD Na Young-seok explained that until directing 2 Days & 1 Night he never met cast members in private, saying, "They didn't want it either, and I never contacted them even once. We make a good show together and when it's time to stop, we part ways; I didn't want to become a burden on each other's hearts."
He said the turning point for him was meeting actor Lee Seo-jin. PD Na Young-seok said he met Lee Seo-jin on the first variety show he made after moving from KBS to CJ ENM, 2 Days & 1 Night, and confessed that he didn't expect to work with him for so long back then.
He said, "After suffering together, especially overseas, with the minimum crew, both of us were exhausted at night, so when the schedule ended we would go out to a small veranda and drink bottled soju together," adding, "After spending ten days like that, a relationship developed that was more than just cast and PD."
