'Absolute Value of Romance' Kim Hyang-gi faced a crisis of having her identity exposed.
On the 22nd, Coupang Play 'Absolute Value of Romance' (directors Lee Tae-gon, Kim Jun-hyung) episode 13 depicted Ye Ui-ju (Kim Hyang-gi) on the verge of having her identity as a novel writer discovered.
Ye Ui-ju, encouraged by her close friend Choi Go-ya (Kim So-hee)'s advice, tried to confess to Ga Woo-su. However, unable to bring herself to confess aloud, Ye Ui-ju said that after-school math study was too hard and that she felt like she was a nuisance to her friends. Ga Woo-su (Cha Hak-yeon) replied with a look of disappointment beyond bewilderment, saying, "Did you forget the promise from 10 years ago? I believed you would be good at math." Ye Ui-ju was curious about the promise from 10 years ago that she did not know about, but because Ga Woo-su turned away coldly, she could not ask further.
Back home, Ye Ui-ju tried to confess indirectly through episode 9 of the novel she writes, "We were friends." She left a confession line saying, "I didn't even dislike it when you embarrassed me for being bad at math," and the next day she met Ga Woo-su and asked if he had read the novel, expecting a positive answer. But Ga Woo-su's reply was only, "Choi Yoon has suddenly changed and it's strange. I don't know why they're saying things that don't fit the situation."
To make matters worse, Ye Ui-ju was scolded for not doing a performance assessment and given extra homework, but she still did not dislike Ga Woo-su. When her friends gossiped about Ga Woo-su, she unknowingly defended him, and when that caused a misunderstanding she hurriedly smoothed things over. The friends concluded that Ye Ui-ju couldn't possibly like Ga Woo-su, but Kim So-hee warned Ye Ui-ju, saying, "They say you can't hide love or a cough."
Meanwhile, rumors about Ye Ui-ju's novel "We were friends" spread quickly at school. Students guessed that the teachers in the work were Ga Woo-su, No Da-ju (Kim Jae-hyun), Jeong Gi-jeon (Son Jeong-hyeok), and Yoon Dong-ju (Kim Dong-gyu), and Eun Ha-su (No Joo-eun), having heard this, read the novel slowly and guessed that the author of "We were friends" was a classmate who took after-school lessons.
Unaware that her identity was about to be exposed, Ye Ui-ju was heartbroken when she saw Ga Woo-su laughing while talking on the phone with someone. Ye Ui-ju blamed herself, saying, "I wish it were all fiction. Then everything would have gone my way," and decided to give up her feelings for Ga Woo-su, believing she could not be seen as a woman by him. Later, while checking comments on the novel, Ye Ui-ju grew anxious at a comment guessing her identity and noticed Eun Ha-su acting as if she knew everything.
Plagued by anxiety about when it would be revealed, Ye Ui-ju even considered deleting the work. Sensitive even to her phone's vibration, she told Ga Woo-su she should take a break from writing the novel. Ye Ui-ju said, "I have to study and I keep forgetting homework, that's why," and Ga Woo-su advised, "Think back to when you first started. Why did you start writing this novel? Think about your original intention. The answer is there." Meanwhile, Eun Ha-su became angry when she saw Ga Woo-su give the drink she had handed to him to Ye Ui-ju.
