Boy band ONEWE zeroes in on global listeners' emotions with lyrics as lyrical as a fairy tale.
ONEWE (Yonghun, Kanghyun, Harin, Dongmyeong, Kiuk)'s single album 2 '點 : The Quiver' will be released at 6 p.m. on the 28th through various online music sites.
Ahead of that, ONEWE on the 21st posted a Highlight lyric book video for single album 2 '點 : The Quiver' (點 : The Quiver) on their official YouTube channel, announcing the start of the full comeback countdown.
The released video was produced in a format in which sensuous lyrics are beautifully embroidered over instrumental versions of all the tracks included in the new single. The different deep emotional lines of each track blend together to offer a fresh feeling and deep immersion as if listening to an audiobook or reading a storybook.
In particular, a short but striking lyric from the title track "ICARUS" — "Even if it's only one flight, if it's you I'd rather fall" — grabs the ear. Reinterpreting Icarus, a symbol of arrogance in Greek mythology, through ONEWE's own perspective, they portray a dazzling romance of willingly flying up for a loved one despite knowing the fall, raising anticipation for the full song.
In addition to the title track, the new release is packed with songs that prove ONEWE's wide musical spectrum. Four tracks are included: "Coordinates," which captures the fateful moment encountered at the end of wandering; "Compass," which expresses an aching heart that ultimately moves toward one person; and "FLY," which unravels the emotion of never being able to forget each other even in faded memories.
This release is a single that announces the spectacular prologue of ONEWE's newly launched large-scale project, the "Dot, Line, Plane" series. Not only did they weave the journey toward an unknown world into organic narratives across tracks, but the members also directly participated in work on all the songs, fully demonstrating their further evolved musical capabilities and distinctive band color.
