'An Sun-young's double life' Broadcaster An Sun-young for the first time revealed the Toronto, Canada, home she prepared after offering herself as a gireogi (stay-at-home) mom.
On the 15th An Sun-young's YouTube released a video titled 'Forgotten celebrity An Sun-young's Canada house reveal (+ reason for coming to Toronto)'. An Sun-young said, "This is the first time I've introduced my Canada home across TV and YouTube," and "Toronto's winter runs from Oct. to Apr. It snows. So snow boots are basic. Sometimes it suddenly snows so you can't put away your winter clothes," as she entered the house showing a closet packed with winter clothes.
Not living in a single-family dwellings but in a condo, An Sun-young said, "This is my room. It still snows so I still sleep with an electric blanket. And there's a bathroom," as she revealed the cool high-rise view.
An Sun-young said, "This neighborhood feels like Ilsan. It's 5 minutes to the airport, you can even see the route the child takes to training. It's 5 minutes," and "Child hockey, school, home, everything gathers within 15 minutes like a newly planned city. Usually we live in a townhouse, but when you first come to Toronto, if it snows, shoveling snow is no joke. So through an education agency and real estate we came here. They said a condo-like place was available," explaining the reason she came here.
An Sun-young's son, Seoba-ro, is 11 this year. After winning the national tournament in the hockey division at age 5, he wanted to continue playing sports, and to play in the famous North American hockey leagues the An Sun-young family recorded self-made videos and sent them to teams. After an entrance tryout last April, he became the first Korean to join in the 120-year history of the club, and he is currently active as a hockey player.
In addition, An Sun-young announced a break from broadcasting activities to care for her mother, who has cognitive impairment. An Sun-young said, "We did it ourselves without a professional production team. I wrote 'An Sun-young is leaving for Canada', 'retiring from broadcasting?' but doesn't my mother have cognitive impairment? So I can't really leave," cautiously and coolly admitting that the circumstances that inflated reports of retirement were her responsibility.
She said, "Anyway, things have happened, so how do you deal with them. My mother and daughter are not things I can abandon. But I can take a short break from broadcasting. If I take about three years off and people stop looking for me, then that's my fault for being bad at broadcasting. So I'm confident I can take a break from broadcasting," adding that she is instead having genuine communication through YouTube. She became teary while recounting an anecdote about meeting a fan.
Also An Sun-young said, "Whether you like me or not, I'll appear. I'm tired of myself too. On my days off my reruns come up and I keep appearing in algorithms, and I've seen malicious comments like, 'I hate seeing this woman; why does she keep popping up?' The moment someone writes those comments I'll follow them even more," displaying an unusual mentality and an unoffensive charm.
