Disney+ hit variety show 'War of Fate 49' is making a spinoff thanks to its popularity.
On the 21st, OSEN reported that Disney+ is preparing a spinoff variety show with the top three of 'War of Fate 49'. In addition to the top three, one to two more notable shamans may be added.
This spinoff is not a season 2 in nature; centered on the top three, the fate practitioners will run a new-ppal stay and invite ordinary people to hold a K-shamanism tour. Recruitment of ordinary participants has already begun, and because 'War of Fate 49' received such global love, applications are expected to pour in regardless of age, gender or nationality.
The 'War of Fate 49' spinoff variety show is expected to be released worldwide on Disney+ as early as the end of this year or in the first half of next year.
Meanwhile, in the final episode (episode 10) of 'War of Fate 49,' which ended in March, the final three Yun Dae-man, Lee So-bin and Seol-hwa competed under the theme of the 'war of souls.'
Five-year practitioner shaman Yun Dae-man welcomed a father who had lost his 16-year-old daughter to the afterlife as a client, and attracted attention by comforting the deceased and the bereaved family. The father who requested the consolation gave a perfect score of 51 points, and Yun Dae-man received 173 points, higher than Lee So-bin and Seol-hwa, winning the victory. As a result, he became the first winner of 'War of Fate 49' and the recipient of the 100 million won prize.
According to Disney Plus, 'War of Fate 49' ranked first as the most-watched title in Korea on a cumulative basis, surpassing the platform record previously set by Moving (2023). It also ranked as the most-watched Disney+ title this year in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
