Actress Kang Ye-won said she finally found herself not as an actress but as herself.
On the 21st, a video titled 'Muzi tells everything about why Kang Ye-won can't get a boyfriend' was released on Kang Ye-won's YouTube channel 'Kkang Ye-won'.
The video showed Kang Ye-won inviting her close younger sister, singer Muzi, and talking about various topics such as dating, business and YouTube. Kang Ye-won recently talked about changes in which she navigates daily life on her own, such as taking the subway alone without a manager, and the difficulties she faces as a businesswoman, while Muzi continued the conversation by citing reasons why Kang Ye-won can't date and recommending content directions that leverage her strengths.
Muzi said, "One of the things I hear a lot while going around is 'I don't want to meet new people anymore.' Even among people who are together, it's not easy to be considerate of each other, so starting a new relationship is difficult," sharing her worries. Kang Ye-won sympathized, saying, "It's the same with working relationships; when you break up it's so hard and you no longer expect anything." Muzi added, "Young people say they just don't date. They don't really prefer drinking and they don't prefer romantic relationships that require responsibility. They look for a comfort that lets them escape."
Responding to the comment that these days people prefer to lie at home looking for something to escape to, Kang Ye-won sympathized, saying, "That's me. The sofa is off." Muzi suspected, saying, "Are you lying down alone?" and asked whether Kang Ye-won had been with a partner. Kang Ye-won laughed and said, "I'm alone. Why do you keep thinking I'm with someone? I wish I were. If I were, why don't you do it for me and say it?"
Muzi advised, "What I always tell single people around me is, they really want it but say, 'I don't even know where to meet someone,' and then nothing will ever happen. You have to keep going out and say it out loud."
Kang Ye-won also opened up about worries over retirement and how to live the rest of her life. She said, "It's been years since I've gone to personal activities alone. I couldn't live without a manager, I couldn't even go to the bank, and there was nothing I could do. Recently I had work in Yeongdeungpo and I took the subway. Doing that made me feel there is nothing I can't do by myself. I finally found Kang Ye-won. As an actress I kept getting into characters and I was gone, but now whatever happens I am getting through it well." Muzi sympathized, saying, "I think doing business was a good choice. After being pushed around by people and being misunderstood, she became stronger."
While talking with Kang Ye-won, Muzi advised on Kang Ye-won's content concerns, saying, "Kang Ye-won's strength is that she really works hard. If she starts something, she doesn't look back and moves straight ahead and works hard. And she is considerate of others. I think she'd do well in beauty. She knows well and knows a lot, so people would be very interested in the products she actually uses."
