"Survival King 2"'s team Kim Byoung-man faced a crisis early on as Yook Jun-seo suffered an injury.
In the first episode of TV CHOSUN's "Survival King 2," which aired on the 20th, a 1-on-1 arm wrestling match took place and showed Yook Jun-seo getting injured.
Team Kim Byoung-man, which finished first in the distress mission, chose Team Shikai for the preliminaries. Yook Jun-seo, a UDT alumnus, faced off against Chaoyuning, who comes from baseball, and won just one second after the match began.
Second, jiu-jitsu champion Yoshinari of Team Yoshinari faced action actor Henry of Team Hero, and Yoshinari won easily.
The final match became a Korea-Japan showdown. Yook Jun-seo said, "My goal is first place. Because I must be first, I'll win this time and become the king." Yoshinari also said, "I will definitely hold this match. It's like 'I will never lose to Korea,'" showing confidence.
Amid intense tension, Yook Jun-seo said, "Wait a moment," and took another breath. Then the arm wrestling match began. As a result, Yoshinari won and the Japanese team took first place overall.
While Yoshinari was savoring his victory, Yook Jun-seo tightly clutched his elbow as if uncomfortable. It turned out that Yook Jun-seo had twisted his arm while holding on during the arm wrestling match. When Yoshinari showed concern, he insisted he was fine, but the pain did not subside easily and caused worry.
In a subsequent interview, Yook Jun-seo said, "Shall I show you?" as he took off his jacket and said, "When arm wrestling, it bent like this and I heard a ripping sound. It seems torn (at the elbow). This bruise happened because of arm wrestling. I've never had a bruise like this before. I've taken on a big risk," he revealed.
Next was a fire-starting contest. However, as the pain worsened over time, Yook Jun-seo said, "I can't even wear gloves," and eventually went to the team doctor. It was difficult to clench his fist and he couldn't move his fingers, so the team doctor gave him a painkiller and provided first aid.
Yook Jun-seo said, "For now, I'm very worried and I feel so sorry for my teammates. Still, I think I should do it even if it hurts, so I'll endure as much as I can and try my best to do what I can."
Meanwhile, in the fire-starting mission Team Shikai took first place, and Yook Jun-seo, pushing through his injury, concentrated on lighting the fire. Under Kim Byoung-man's leadership, Team Kim Byoung-man succeeded in lighting the fire in second place.
