Comedian Yang Sang-guk of Problem Child in House candidly confessed his true feelings about the so-called "attitude controversy" in which he reportedly talked back to Yu Jae-seok during the broadcast.
On the 21st episode of KBS2 Problem Child in House, which aired that day, Yang Sang-guk and singer VV appeared as guests.
Broadcaster Song Eun I mentioned that Yang Sang-guk and Yu Jae-seok often work together and cautiously asked about the recent emotional distress that had surfaced. In response, Yang Sang-guk calmly replied, "It's not emotional distress. If there are people who feel uncomfortable, it's my fault," and began to speak.
Yang Sang-guk then opened up about the situation that caused the controversy, saying, "I'm not usually able to act cheeky toward seniors, but I did 'geumanhaiso' on the broadcast with senior Yu Jae-seok, so that was a bit..." Upon hearing this, Kim Sook defended Yang Sang-guk, saying, "That was totally for the broadcast."
He also confessed about the gap between his real personality and his broadcast character. Yang Sang-guk explained with a mix of grievance and apology, "I'm actually very introverted and can't speak well before a broadcast. Once I go on air, I'm someone who acts like a drunk and behaves with drunken-like antics on the show."
Meanwhile, while talking about the dialect character, Yang Sang-guk mentioned lines for the character, saying, "If you always bring a woman just to be funny, she gets used to it, so if you never bring her and then bring her once, she appreciates it."
In response, guest VV actively sympathized, saying, "That's hyperrealism. When using a dialect, you usually imitate your father. Our parents are people of that era," and showed strong agreement.
