Singer VV's song that set her world tour alight is finally being released.
VV will release her new single "Bumpa (BUMPA)" at 6 p.m. on the 20th through various music streaming sites.
VV's new song, which raised expectations with various content after announcing her comeback on the 12th, comes about a year after she released her second full-length album EVE:ROMNACE last year. In particular, it is the first track to announce the start of a new chapter with the signing of a global partnership with Warner Music.
"Bumpa (BUMPA)" started from a Jamaican slang word meaning "butt." The song intuitively expresses the feeling of freely dancing and enjoying the moment; it is a lively track that blends global pop with Latin and Caribbean rhythms. Summer's positive energy and vitality naturally melt into the rhythmic sound.
VV said, "It's a song I made a long time ago. At first it was a completely Afro sound, but we arranged it into a band version for the world tour, and the level of completion was so high that we decided to release it." VV boasts a high level of completion, having overseen lyrics and composition as well as producing, concept, visuals and video directing.
VV said of "Bumpa," "When writing the lyrics I especially tried to clear my mind. I focused on the joy itself rather than conveying any particular meaning," and added, "The key point doesn't rest on me. The point is how much the listeners enjoy the song."
With a music video filmed against the backdrop of Koh Samui, Thailand, and a performance that faithfully realizes the song's atmosphere counted as another point, VV said, "It's a song we all enjoyed together during the world tour, and I wanted fans to again feel that gift-like emotion we felt then."
