'You Quiz on the Block' actress Gong Seung-yeon's behind-the-scenes story of caring for her younger sister, TWICE's Jeongyeon, was revealed.
On the 20th broadcast of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereafter 'You Quiz'), actress Gong Seung-yeon appeared. Anecdotes about Gong Seung-yeon were revealed through a video shot by Jeongyeon. Jeongyeon did not participate in activities during TWICE's second album due to abnormalities in her body, and afterwards there was much controversy over side effects from steroid treatment for cervical disc treatment.
Jeongyeon said, "My older sister grabbed me and said, 'Something is wrong with your body. I think you need to go to the hospital,' so she took me to the hospital. That's when I received an accurate diagnosis. It was Cushing's syndrome," and said she had suffered from Cushing's syndrome. Jeongyeon said, "My older sister really dislikes being active, but because of me she started playing tennis to exercise, started boxing, and would go with me after my schedule ended. Thanks to my sister, the treatment went well and I became healthy. I'm grateful."
Gong Seung-yeon said, "I was afraid my younger sister would disappear. When Jeongyeon said bad things, I would hit her saying, 'What's wrong with you.' Then I would comfort her and we would cry together. I stayed by her side the whole time. When it was time, I made sure she ate," revealing her sincere feelings.
