Chung Yun-ho was honored with the new male actor award in the institutional sector for series at the 24th Directors Cut Awards held on the 19th. Through this award, he broadened his acting spectrum and solidified his presence in the industry.
In the Disney+ original series "Low Life," Chung Yun-ho gave a powerful performance as "Beolgu," a rough, action-first character who uses his fists more than words. With sharp eyes and bold expressiveness, he elevated the drama's immersion and received enthusiastic praise from both the public and critics. To perfect the character, Chung Yun-ho underwent intensive dialect training across all areas, delivering realistic speech that vividly brought the work's historical setting to life. In addition, he attempted a radical visual transformation by minimizing makeup and showing his raw bare face to fully embody the character's rough personality, leaving a strong impression.
Because this award was won decisively among formidable nominees selected directly by active directors, it is all the more meaningful as further proof of Chung Yun-ho's groundbreaking image transformation and valuable acting achievement.
