My Royal Nemesis's momentum continues.
SBS's Friday-Saturday drama My Royal Nemesis (directed by Han Tae-seop / written by Kang Hyun-ju / produced by StudioS, Gil Pictures) rose to No. 1 on Netflix's "Top 10 Series in South Korea Today" after its release, and as of the 18th it held the top spot for two consecutive weeks.
My Royal Nemesis is a drama that deals with aromance comedy like an explosive, hair-trigger war between nameless actress Shin Seori (Lim Ji-yeon), possessed by the soul of a notorious Joseon villainess who becomes "malicious," and Cha Segye (Heo Nam-jun), a vicious chaebol called a monster born of capitalism, and in just two weeks it surged to a peak rating of 7.8% (according to Nielsen Korea), gaining great popularity.
My Royal Nemesis drew hot attention not only domestically but also abroad, and the weekly viewing rankings for "Global Top 10 Non-English Shows" released by TUDUM, Netflix's official site, ranked it No. 1 last week and No. 2 this week (May 11–17), keeping it in the top tier.
It is maintaining global box office heat by staying in the top 10 in 44 countries, including Brazil, Spain, Bolivia, Peru, Australia and Hong Kong.
The level of buzz is as tremendous as its hot box office. According to Good Data Corporation's FUNdex buzz rankings for the second week of May (on the basis of May 11–17), My Royal Nemesis ranked No. 2 in buzz in the TV drama category, and in the integrated buzz rankings for TV-OTT cast members, Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun ranked fourth and fifth.
Also, KinoLytics' "Today's trend ranking" swept to No. 1 among all content in its second week following its first broadcast week, continuing the heated atmosphere.
Meanwhile, SBS's My Royal Nemesis airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m.
