YouTuber Karaculla sued singer MC MONG for defamation.
On the 19th, Karaculla said on her personal social media that she filed a complaint with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station against MC MONG on charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation by publicly asserting false facts). She also said she filed a lawsuit seeking about 100 million won in damages against MC MONG at the Seoul Central District Court.
The day before, MC MONG conducted a live broadcast on his personal social media. During it, he claimed, "Karaculla posted a video alleging an affair and deleted it after receiving 5 million won."
In response, Karaculla has denied it as "spreading false information." Karaculla says she never received tips about the allegation, never produced such a video, and never deleted one.
MC MONG's live broadcast has faced rebuttals of "groundless" and pressure of legal action from parties other than Karaculla. In the broadcast, MC MONG explained past allegations of draft evasion and paid sex. In the process, he named some well-known entertainers, including Kim Min-jong, and even raised allegations of illegal gambling gatherings.
However, Kim Min-jong's side denied all related allegations, saying, "That is completely untrue." Kim Min-jong's side also said it plans to take strong legal action against MC MONG for defamation resulting from spreading false information.
Karaculla is currently a YouTuber whose channel operations have been suspended. She halted activities after being sentenced to one year in prison with a three-year suspended sentence for aiding and abetting extortion against YouTuber Tzuyang in 2024. Recently she showed signs of resuming channel activity, but she was criticized for posting interviews with suspects in the late director Kim Chang-min case and her channel operations were suspended by YouTube. <
