Former Sistar member and singer Soyu revealed the secret to securing a home in Seoul with stocks purchased 10 years ago.
Soyu appeared on the seventh episode of "Ganjeolhanip," titled "spicy master vs. spicy novice. Soyu blows away three days of MV shoot stress with nakji-bokkeum 30 times spicier than cheongyang peppers," which was released on the YouTube channel "Studio Suje" on the 19th.
MC Kim Ji-yoo opened the conversation by saying, "She's someone who only saves. She doesn't know anything. Isn't she the queen of personal finance?"
Soyu replied, "No. I don't know anything about stocks. But maybe I was lucky. Ten years ago I put 100 million won into stocks, as a way to study them," and added, "In the end I put it into Samsung Electronics and SK hynix. It was when they were starting to rise," drawing attention.
She laughed and said, "Then when my mother was moving this time she said, 'You have 100 million won there, right?'" She supplemented the 100 million won she had put into stocks 10 years ago and succeeded in preparing a home in Seoul.
Soyu said honestly, "So when I moved this time I supplemented it, not by pulling everything together but I was able to move," and added, "So right now I'm half very happy and half exhausted."
Soyu said, "Because I don't know what will happen in life, I felt I should study to protect my money. It's been about six months to a year," revealing that after buying a house she's been seriously studying personal finance.
Soyu also opened up about the hardships of being a singer in her 17th year since debut. Soyu said candidly, "These days what I feel is that there are singers who come to mind for ballads and singers who come to mind for dance songs. I feel like I'm neither here nor there. Anyway, I'm 36. I went through hard times then came back, and I'm still grateful to myself for still liking music and enjoying challenging new genres."
