BTS member RM took a commemorative photo in front of the tree at Stanford University where Epik High's Tablo cried amid the academic fraud controversy.
On the 19th RM posted a photo on his SNS with the caption "Crying Tree."
The released photo showed RM visiting Stanford in the United States, Tablo's alma mater. In particular, the background of the photo was in front of the tree that appears in a scene of the documentary dealing with Tablo's academic controversy, and RM drew attention by reenacting exactly the clothes and hat Tablo wore at the time.
RM also posted a photo of him riding a bicycle across the Stanford campus with the message "Hyung, the Stanford campus is killing it."
Seeing this, Tablo posted a photo on SNS placing his image and RM's image side by side and marveled, "Namjoon actually went to the crying tree omg he actually went to the crying tree."
Earlier, when RM and Suga appeared on Epik High's YouTube channel, ahead of BTS's Stanford Stadium performance Tablo recommended that the members take a group photo at the filming location of the documentary dealing with Tablo's academic fraud controversy, the so-called "Crying Tree," which embarrassed the members.
Tablo even made a bold pledge, saying "it's a good place to ward off bad luck" and "if you take a photo there I'll start working on a solo album."
As Tablo said, RM's commemorative photo taken in front of the actual crying tree provokes laughter.
Meanwhile, BTS will hold a solo concert at Stanford Stadium in the United States for three days total on the 17th–18th and the 20th (local time), becoming the first Korean singer to do so.
