On the 18th episode of TV CHOSUN's "Lover of Joseon", the couple Shim Hyun-seop and Jung Young-rim, who marked their first wedding anniversary, were featured.
To prepare a surprise performance for Jung Young-rim, Shim Hyun-seop rented an old small theater in Seoul. He also recruited his close friend Im Jae-wook as an invited singer. When it was time for the performance, Jung Young-rim arrived at the venue. As Jung Young-rim sat in the audience, the performance began. The congratulatory video featured key people who could recall the couple's dating days. In particular, Shim Hyun-seop's aunt Shim Hye-jin, who played a major role in his marriage, offered congratulations, saying, "I'm so relieved that you are living well. You look so good. If you can have a child, I hope you do. Be as happy as you are now."
Then Shim Hyun-seop appeared on stage. He explained, "Young-rim said, 'When you hold the mic, I hope you make me laugh.' So I made this occasion." Jung Young-rim burst into loud laughter at each of Shim Hyun-seop's words.
Shim Hyun-seop revealed a letter he wrote himself for Jung Young-rim. Shim Hyun-seop conveyed his sincerity: "To my beloved wife Jung Young-rim. It feels like just the other day I hesitated to hold your hand, but already a year has passed. Waking up and finding you are now my wife, thank you. You've been working hard preparing for a child lately. But the most important thing is our happiness from now on. If we do our best and then it becomes too much, the two of us can just live happily together. You come first for me. If we meet again in the next life, let's be a married couple again. Next time, let's meet a little earlier." Moved by Shim Hyun-seop's deep love, Jung Young-rim eventually shed tears.
