Taeyong, a member of the group NCT who returned as a solo artist, topped global charts.
SM Entertainment said on the 19th, "Taeyong's first solo full-length album released on the 18th, "WYLD," ranked No. 1 on the Circle Chart retail album chart, and the title track of the same name also took No. 1 on the Bugs real-time chart."
Taeyong released "WYLD" the previous day and made his solo comeback. This new release is Taeyong's first album since his discharge and includes 10 tracks that he participated in producing.
Taeyong's new release is also receiving a hot response in the global market. On Japan's AWA real-time rising chart, all tracks from the album swept positions 1 through 10.
Also, it took No. 1 in eight regions on the iTunes top albums chart, including Chile, Poland, India, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. In addition, it achieved global results by placing in the top 10 in 15 regions, including Australia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates and Türkiye.
The title track "WYLD" also reached No. 1 on the iTunes top songs chart in eight regions, including Argentina, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Laos, Malaysia and the Philippines. The achievement is more meaningful because the album contains songs in which Taeyong participated in producing.
Announcing the successful comeback of an all-around musician, Taeyong plans to continue various activities.
