Actress Kim Young-ok says a final farewell to her husband, the late KBS announcer Kim Young-gil.
The funeral procession was held at 8 a.m. on the 19th at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital funeral hall. The burial site is Donghwa Gyeongmo Park.
Former announcer Kim Young-gil died of a lingering illness on the 17th. He was 89.
The deceased was praised during his lifetime while working as a KBS announcer for his steady delivery and neat image. He and Kim Young-ok were alumni of Chung-Ang University and met while participating in the broadcasting club.
Later Kim Young-ok joined the Chuncheon Broadcasting Station in 1959 as an announcer — the predecessor of the Chuncheon Broadcasting Bureau of KBS — strengthening their bond, and they married in 1960 when Kim Young-ok left the station and switched to voice acting. The two raised a family with three children: one son and two daughters.
