The group LE SSERAFIM unveiled the long-awaited Highlight medley of their new full-length album, heating up comeback excitement.
LE SSERAFIM's second full-length album "PUREFLOW" pt.1, which will show the prowess and expanded musical world of the "self-producing idols," will be released simultaneously worldwide at 1 p.m. on the 22nd. Ahead of that, on the 20th and 21st, music video teasers for the title track "BOOMPALA" will be unveiled sequentially.
At 12 a.m. on the 19th, LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Heo Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae) posted the Highlight medley video for their second full-length album "PUREFLOW" pt.1 on HYBE Labels' official YouTube channel and Source Music's official social media, drawing explosive reactions from global fans.
The released video contained portions of a total of 11 songs filled on the new album, including the title track "BOOMPALA" (Boompala), which will capture listeners' ears worldwide, raising anticipation for the full tracks.
The title track "BOOMPALA" is a Latin house song that uses intense catchiness as its weapon. The keyword "BOOMPALA," repeated like an incantation in the chorus, immediately sticks in the ear. In particular, by cleverly sampling the globally mega-hit "Macarena," it is expected to target the music charts this summer with a brighter and more upbeat energy.
As it is a full-length album presented after about three years, LE SSERAFIM proves a broader musical spectrum and growth through tracks that traverse genres such as Latin pop, punk and house.
From the eponymous intro "Pureflow" to the lead single "CELEBRATION," "Creatures," which contains the members' firm will to resist the gaze that oppresses the team, and "iffy iffy," which blesses the moment of admitting fear, support the album's first half solidly.
Starting with "How can we get to know each other more," which serves as the album's backbone, the pop-style simple waltz "Sonder," "Saki (feat. Aliyah's Interlude)," which creates an organic link inspired by lyrics from the previous mini album track "1-800-hot-n-fun," the catchy-sounding "Irony," and the sophisticated melody of "Trust Exercise" follow. The final track "Liminal Space" revealed only a striking line—"But where are we going?"—maximizing curiosity about the full song.
Above all, this new release adds authenticity with the high level of participation from the five members. In particular, member Heo Yunjin participated in the production of as many as eight tracks among the album tracks excluding the title track, fully demonstrating her capabilities as a "genius singer-songwriter."
Among them, "How can we get to know each other more" is a song in which Heo Yunjin poured honest feelings she felt in relationships with the members, and "Trust Exercise," which Kim Chaewon·Heo Yunjin·Kazuha·Hong Eunchae participated in together, also dealt with the pace of relationships, adding sincerity. In addition, Kim Chaewon is credited on "CELEBRATION," Hong Eunchae is credited on "iffy iffy," and all members participated in the outro "Liminal Space," showcasing perfect teamwork.
