Group NCT member Taeyong today (18) releases his first solo full-length album 'WYLD' and makes a comeback.
Taeyong will at 6 p.m. on the 18th release his first solo full-length album 'WYLD' and the title track of the same name on various global music platforms.
Ahead of his comeback, Taeyong said, "I'm excited and really thrilled. Over the past 2 years, I reviewed my transfer albums, studied a lot, and worked to improve. I worked with the intention of showing a more grown side, so I hope this album awakens your musical instincts," he said.
'WYLD' is the result of Taeyong honestly pouring out his instincts and energy. The title 'WYLD' was created from the initial letters of "Wild," "Yell," "Loud," and "Dance," representing the stories Taeyong wanted to convey: wildness and roaring, dance, instinct, and expression.
In particular, Taeyong not only wrote the lyrics for all 10 songs included in 'WYLD' but also participated in producing all the tracks, capturing a firmer and more grown musical spectrum. The album is expected to showcase Taeyong's hardened inner self and deepened sensitivity.
On participating in producing all the tracks, Taeyong said, "What I ultimately cared about most was properly showing the image of 'artist Taeyong.' I love making music, but I kept wondering how to present it. While working on this project, I thought a lot about how to convey the emotions and thoughts inside me."
Above all, 'WYLD' is receiving more attention because it is the first album Taeyong has released since his military service. Taeyong said, "I think there is the biggest change in overall completeness and the communicative power of the lyrics," and added, "There were many songs I had worked on, but if the emotions or messages I wanted to convey weren't sufficiently felt, I boldly set them aside," describing the work process.
The title track, 'WYLD,' is a hip-hop song inspired by the instinctive movements of wild animals, blending the long-condensed artist's self with wildness to heighten immersion.
Taeyong said, "I thought 'WYLD' was the perfect song to unleash the energy and instincts that accumulated during the 2-year hiatus. It's a new style of music I hadn't tried before, and the images I'd envisioned from the moment I started working are naturally reflected, making it feel more special," asking for anticipation.
Finally, on his goals for his first solo full-length album, Taeyong said, "I want to show a more grown side to many people. I hope you feel that Taeyong's music and color have become clearer," announcing the start of a new chapter.
