This is a review article written after watching the video.
Actor Lee Cheon-hee made a bench for Kim Sook.
On the 18th, a video titled "In celebration of completing Sook-ee older sister's house in Jeju! I gifted Chun-hee's handmade furniture" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Chun-gaemi Lee Cheon-hee.'
That day Lee Cheon-hee said, "It's been a while since I came to the workshop. Something I need to make has come up after a long time," and said, "I've been working together with Sook-ee older sister for six months now building her house, and since the house is completed I'm going to make a small piece of furniture to go in it."
When Kim Sook visited Lee Cheon-hee's workshop in the past, she said a stool was pretty and asked for it if he wasn't using it. Lee Cheon-hee mentioned furniture designer George Nakashima as someone he liked, saying, "I'll make a piece of furniture with a live edge."
Afterward, Lee Cheon-hee went to the workshop even on weekends and devoted himself to making the bench for Kim Sook. Near the end of the video, Kim Sook said, "I liked that the bench didn't look new. It felt like the tree that had been here," and said, "It's the chair of my life. The grain is alive so it feels like the wood is alive. I'll cherish it forever."
While making the furniture, Lee Cheon-hee was happiest to hear the words "it's alive," so he was very pleased with Kim Sook's reaction. Meanwhile, on the 16th Kim Sook announced the house completion news on her social media, saying, "Thanks to those who worried, a very beautiful, cultural property(?) level house has been completed," and received congratulations.
Kim Sook's house was purchased in joint names by Kim Sook and Song Eun I in 2012, but was later organized into Kim Sook's sole ownership. Also, remodeling was only possible after obtaining permission for changes to the appearance from the Korea Heritage Service, so a huge amount of time and money was invested before obtaining approval, evoking regret.
