The group Cortis is sparking a global 'Young Crk (Young Creator Crew)' craze. They are making their presence known by entering the U.S. 'Billboard 200' top three in the shortest period among K-pop rookies.
According to a chart preview article Billboard published on its official website on the 18th, Cortis's mini 2nd album 'Greengreen (GREENGREEN)' ranked third on the Billboard 200, the main album chart dated May 23.
With this, excluding project teams, Cortis entered the chart's top three in the shortest period for a K-pop group, reaching the milestone nine months after debut. Also, among boy groups that debuted within the past five years, Cortis is the only team to have reached the top three on the Billboard 200.
Moreover, Cortis rose to No. 17 on Billboard's 'Bubbling Under Hot 100,' putting them on the verge of entering the main song chart, the Hot 100.
On the U.K. Official Charts released on the 16th, with 'Greengreen' they reached No. 1 on the 'Official Physical Singles' chart, No. 2 on 'Official Single Sales,' and No. 6 on the 'Official hip hop & R&B albums' chart, placing on three subcharts. This shows their strong influence in global markets such as the United States and the United Kingdom, which are among the world's largest music markets.
On the afternoon of the 17th, Cortis won first place on SBS's Inkigayo with the title track 'Redred (REDRED)' from 'Greengreen,' achieving a domestic music show grand slam.
After winning, Cortis said on their fan communication platform, "I feel most that we need to do even better going forward. I'm so happy because this is an award we achieved together with CORE (official fandom)."
