To fill the vacancy left by lead actor Lee Jung-ha, who stepped down due to military service, newcomer Won Kyu-bin has been chosen for the role of Kim Bong-seok.
Disney+ is generating explosive interest by announcing the start of filming for the second installment of Moving, the series that announced the global stature of K-content and created a sensation.
The sequel to Moving, which opened a new horizon for Korean-style action heroes and sparked a worldwide phenomenon, Moving season 2 has begun full-scale filming and announced its start.
Moving season 2 is a human action series in which the superhumans who returned to everyday life after the 'Jeongwon-go incident' face a new crisis and once again fight to protect their loved ones. Kang Full, who showed highly complete storytelling through the perfect combination of genre elements and humanism in Moving and Light Shop, returns to write the script for a third series and once again presents a story that will captivate the world beyond time and national borders.
In addition, director Kim Sung-hoon of Kingdom, who led the globalization of K-series, will direct and is expected to fully demonstrate the rhythmic direction, stylish visuals, and unique directorial ability that freely crosses the boundary between fantasy and reality to deliver immersion, as shown in the Kingdom series and the films Unofficial Operation, Tunnel, and A Hard Day, in Moving season 2.
Also returning from season 1 after explosive performances are Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyojoo, Zo In-sung, Cha Taehyun, Ryu Seung-beom, Go Youn-jung, Kim Do-hoon, Kim Sung-kyun, Shim Dal-gi, Moon Sung-keun, Kim Jong-soo, Park Byung-eun, Kim Shin-rock, Lee Ho-jung, Park Gwang-jae, Kim Guk-hee, Kim Hie-won, Shin Jae-hwi, and Park Han-sol, while Won Kyu-bin, Sul Kyung-gu, Lee Heejun, Ryu Hyeyoung, Roh Yoon-seo, Kim Sungkyu, Kim Gun-woo, and Choi Yoon-ji join as new cast members, completing a dazzling lineup that raises expectations for explosive acting synergy.
In particular, in this Moving season 2, newcomer Won Kyu-bin joins in the role of Kim Bong-seok, who was much loved in season 1, drawing expectations. Won Kyu-bin debuted in the 2025 drama Cheongdam International High School 2 and left a mark on the public with his stable acting, so he is expected to bring vitality to season 2 in the role of Kim Bong-seok.
Carol Choi, executive vice president and head of original content strategy for Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific, said Moving showed how powerful an emotional Korean story can resonate with global viewers when presented on an expanded scale based on solid emotional lines. She expressed hope that season 2 will continue collaborating with creative partners to further expand Moving's universe for fans worldwide. Kang Full, who wrote the script, said he is grateful to the actors and staff who joined and hopes to make an even better work as they proceed with season 2. Director Kim Sung-hoon said he believes season 2 is possible thanks to the staff who made the beloved Moving season 1 and that they will try various attempts, raising expectations for a further expanded Moving universe.
When Disney+'s original series Moving was released, it became the most-watched Korean original series on Hulu in the United States in terms of viewing hours in its first week, and ranked as the most-watched series in its first week on Disney+ in the Asia Pacific region including Korea, drawing explosive popularity. As evidence, it was nominated for best foreign-language drama at the 29th Critics' Choice Awards in the U.S., and continued a string of wins at various award ceremonies—including the 2023 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards, two series categories at the 59th Daejong Film Awards, the most wins in the TV category at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards, and the most wins at the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards—proving it was truly one of 2023's top works.
International media also praised the series, saying an emotionally resonant story with a strong narrative continues to pique interest (Forbes), excellent casting, impressive visual effects, and a compelling story (COLLIDER), and that Moving is astonishing and powerful, showing that K-series can handle the superhero genre (IGN). It also captured global attention, including in Korea, sparking a Moving craze dubbed 'Moving fever' and 'Moving day,' and received intense love.
Meanwhile, Moving season 1, released in 2023, was a superpowered action hero story that gained great popularity as children hiding superpowers and parents who carried painful secrets from the past face a massive danger across eras and generations together. At that time, directors Park In-je and Park Yoon-seo led the production, but season 2 has seen major changes from the lead actors to the directing team.
With Lee Jung-ha leaving due to military service, Won Kyu-bin took over the role of Kim Bong-seok, and new actors such as Sul Kyung-gu, Lee Heejun, Ryu Hyeyoung, Roh Yoon-seo, Kim Sungkyu, Kim Gun-woo, and Choi Yoon-ji have joined in large numbers. Expectations are rising for how the show will offer a different kind of fun from season 1.
