Lee Jae Won, who appeared in Perfect Crown, canceled his end-of-series interview because of controversy surrounding the show.
On the 18th, a representative of his agency, Studio Yuhu, told OSEN about the cancellation of Lee Jae Won's interview.
In this regard, Studio Yuhu said, "We are taking the public sentiment and situation surrounding the show very seriously. In this situation, we felt that it would be cautious and burdensome for the show as a whole and for viewers for the actor to do a personal interview."
They added, "The actor is also viewing the situation with a heavy heart as a member of the production, and after comprehensively considering various circumstances, it seems this interview cannot be carried out." they asked for the reporters' understanding.
Lee Jae Won recently appeared as Seong Tae Joo in the recently concluded MBC Friday-Saturday drama Perfect Crown. To commemorate the show's end, an individual interview had been scheduled for the 21st.
However, despite Perfect Crown achieving its highest viewership ratings, it became embroiled in controversy over historical distortion toward the end of its run, provoking strong public criticism. In consideration of the controversy surrounding the show, Lee Jae Won canceled the end-of-series interview.
As a result, despite being a talked-about show, Perfect Crown faces the calamity of having all actor interviews canceled. Only director Park Jun Hwa, who directed the show, is scheduled to be interviewed by domestic reporters on the 19th, drawing attention to his remarks.
