Actor Adam Driver declined to comment on allegations about his behavior during the filming of the drama 'Girls'.
Adam Driver attended a press conference for the film 'Paper Tiger' at the Cannes Film Festival on the 18th (local time) and was asked about the matter. The question related to allegations about on-set behavior raised by actor-director Rena Dunham in her memoir.
In response, Adam Driver said briefly, "I have nothing to say about that. I will leave all the stories to the book," drawing laughter.
Earlier, Rena Dunham alleged in her memoir 'Famesick' that Adam Driver had shown capricious and threatening behavior during the filming of 'Girls'. He played the role of the boyfriend 'Adam Sackler' in the series and performed opposite Dunham.
Dunham recalled that while rehearsing a scene, Driver yelled, "Say your line," threw a chair against a wall, shouted in her face and acted so violently that he punched a hole in the trailer wall, she claimed.
However, she emphasized that their relationship was two-sided, saying, "At the time we also had a partner-like relationship, and there were protective and affectionate moments."
On the matter, Dunham said, "I wanted to talk about the power dynamics young women can face in the workplace," and explained, "Ultimately it's about the process of understanding one's authority and position."
Meanwhile, Adam Driver used the festival to promote James Gray's new film 'Paper Tiger'. The film features Miles Teller and Scarlett Johansson and tells the story of two brothers who become entangled with a Russian crime organization.
