Big Bang member Taeyang said about releasing a full-length album for the first time in nine years, "I feel many emotions and many thoughts have gone through me."
Taeyang held a listening party to celebrate the release of his fourth full-length album "Quintessence (QUINTESSENCE)" at 4 p.m. on the 18th at the Cube Convention Center in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and personally shared his feelings about his comeback.
First, regarding this year in which he began activities busily, Taeyang opened by saying, "I really feel like I have been incredibly busy since the start of this year. I was extremely busy preparing the Coachella stage, and at the same time I was really busy finishing the album. I don't think I've had a single day off since the Coachella stage."
Taeyang's fourth full-length album Quintessence is his first full-length album in nine years since White Night (WHITE NIGHT), which was released in 2017. It includes a total of 10 tracks, including the title song Live Fast Die Slow (LIVE FAST DIE SLOW).
About releasing a full-length album for the first time in nine years, Taeyang said, "It always feels similar before an album is released. I feel many emotions and many thoughts go through me. But I am happier than ever, and since it coincides with my birthday I am glad to be able to give fans a joyful gift. A gift I prepared for a year is coming out, so I feel relieved and have many thoughts."
Taeyang also explained the album title that became a topic of conversation, saying, "The meaning of 'Quintessence' contains the sense of essence and the quintessence. A year ago when I began making this album, the words that remained in my eyes and heart were essence and quintessence," and added, "As I searched for those words I named the album Quintessence, and it is an album that records the process of researching and contemplating how to contain that essence in my music."
Taeyang's fourth full-length album Quintessence will be released today (the 18th) at 6 p.m.
