Actor Lee Sung-min was confirmed to have contacted Shin Sae-kyeong directly recently to clear up a misunderstanding caused by remarks he made at the Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony.
On the 17th, a representative of HB Entertainment told OSEN, "I heard that actor Lee Sung-min contacted actress Shin Sae-kyeong directly the day after the ceremony (Baeksang). I did not hear detailed contents of the call or exactly what was discussed. However, I heard that they amicably resolved the misunderstanding," the representative said.
The representative cautiously added, "It was a light incident that passed quickly at the ceremony, so neither party expected it to escalate this far. There are no plans for a separate official statement from the agency."
As confirmed by OSEN, Shin Sae-kyeong also received a direct phone call from Lee Sung-min, during which they spoke about the matter and cleared up the misunderstanding.
Earlier, on the 8th at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards, Lee Sung-min won the best supporting actor award in the film category for the movie No Other Choice. When he took the stage, he joked in his acceptance speech about his partner in the film, actress Yeom Hye-ran, being a nominee for best supporting actress in the film category but not winning, saying, "I even cursed inwardly because Hye-ran didn't win."
Coincidentally, Shin Sae-kyeong had just won the best supporting actress award in the film category for her work in the movie HyuMint. Afterward, some internet users criticized Lee Sung-min's remarks as seeming to target Shin Sae-kyeong and deemed them inappropriate. Some internet users left comforting comments under Shin Sae-kyeong's social media posts while criticizing Lee Sung-min's remarks, drawing attention.
Meanwhile, Lee Sung-min is currently filming the movie International Market 2. International Market 2 is a sequel to the 2014 film Ode to My Father, which drew about 14.26 million viewers. In addition to Lee Sung-min, actor Kang Ha-neul was cast as the lead, and director Yoon Je-kyun returns to the director's chair following the previous film.
