Pop star Britney Spears caused a disturbance at a restaurant after sparking controversy over reckless drunk driving.
Recently, foreign outlet TMZ reported that Britney Spears enjoyed a night out with friends at a restaurant in the Los Angeles area, but the situation took a strange turn, with barking, yelling and even a knife appearing.
According to the report, Britney sat at a corner table at an LA restaurant last Wednesday night with one man and one woman, and a commotion soon broke out. Britney was reported to have raised her voice and shouted, and witnesses described the atmosphere at the scene as "a bit sad."
A restaurant patron said Britney walked past their table holding a knife and that they were afraid she might accidentally stab someone. The witness said they thought Britney may simply have forgotten to put the knife down on her table.
It was also reported that Britney smoked inside near the entrance and that staff intervened and asked the person accompanying her to put out the cigarette.
Britney's spokesperson told TMZ, "This is completely exaggerated," and added, "Britney was quietly enjoying dinner with supporting staff and a bodyguard. She was simply talking about her pet barking in the neighborhood. She never put anyone in danger with a knife."
They added, "There has been a constant effort to attack everything she does, and this is exactly the same as when the media tried to portray Britney as a bad person 20 years ago. This is ridiculous and must stop now."
Britney Spears was released one month after voluntarily entering a rehabilitation facility following her earlier arrest for drunk driving. She pleaded guilty to charges related to the arrest on the 4th and was ordered to serve one year of informal probation. She must also complete a three-month alcohol education program.
