Chef Kim Si-hyun, who gained popularity from Culinary Class Wars 2, took the mound for the ceremonial first pitch.
Chef Kim Si-hyun threw the ball as the ceremonial first-pitcher before the KT Wiz and Hanwha Eagles game in the 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League at Suwon KT Wiz Park on the 17th.
That day Chef Kim Si-hyun appeared in jeans and a KT Wiz uniform. His compact frame and the way he threw the ball were the very image of "baby beast."
After throwing the ball with a serious look and giving his best, Chef Kim Si-hyun showed his characteristic cute and bright smile.
In particular, Chef Kim Si-hyun drew attention because his nickname "baby beast" was engraved on his glove.
Chef Kim Si-hyun is the person who appeared as the black-spoon "baby beast" on the popular Netflix original variety show Culinary Class Wars: cooking class wars 2 (hereinafter Culinary Class Wars 2). From the first release of Culinary Class Wars 2 he attracted great attention with his uniquely cute appearance and gestures.
Earlier, on last month's broadcast of KBS 2TV's Problem Child in the Rooftop Room, he revealed that he made a dramatic proposal to his homeroom teacher to gain admission to Korea Culinary Science High School (hereinafter Hanjo High), known as the "dream school" of chefs. Chef Kim Si-hyun confessed, "When I was a middle school student, I opened an after-school cooking class myself to get extra points for admission to Hanjo High. I went to my homeroom teacher and personally asked, 'I will bring the teacher after school, so please help me so that we can have class,'" he confessed.
He also followed an elite course, working at Michelin one-, two- and three-star restaurants. Chef Kim Si-hyun said he saved money, took his portfolio and letters and directly visited Michelin restaurants to deliver them in order to work at Michelin restaurants that do not post openings often, showing the bold drive befitting the "baby beast." He then surprised everyone by saying, "The probationary period is supposed to be three months, but I finished probation in two weeks."
