On the afternoon of the 17th, the KBS2 entertainment program
Yang Jun-hyuk, who served as a one-day coach for Uiseong High School's baseball team, took 40 students to a nearby barbecue restaurant for a group meal.
Yang Jun-hyuk asked his juniors individually about their dreams and goals in baseball, then brought up his own past. He said, "My family was poor. (When I was in fourth grade) when I said I wanted to play baseball, my family said, 'We are in difficult circumstances, so it would be better if you didn't.' So I told my parents, 'I'll beg, so please let me play baseball.' Seeing me then, they said, 'This kid is going to play baseball,' so they didn't stop me from playing baseball."
He continued, "My mother worked as a housemaid, cleaned motels and sold pickled radish at the market," and said, "So I worked even harder as if my life depended on it. I thought I had to succeed to lift my family up."
Baseball junior Kim Tae Kyun admitted, "I wasn't well-off either, but I built an indoor practice facility on the roof of my house to practice," and Jun Hyun-moo quipped, "He said he'd beg to do it, and yet an indoor practice facility?" which drew laughter.
