Group DJ DOC member Lee Ha-neul became furious and hurled profanity when police, responding to a complaint, arrived while he was doing a live broadcast at a shop he runs.
Lee Ha-neul conducted a "Toyol Vibe" live broadcast on his YouTube channel "Job-gi King Lee Ha-neul" on the 16th.
That day Lee Ha-neul conducted the live broadcast while DJing at the gopchang restaurant he operates. Some viewers watching the broadcast questioned, "Is it okay to DJ in a residential area?" They were concerned about noise in the surrounding dwellings because the music sounded loud on the actual broadcast.
Lee Ha-neul explained that the music was not that loud in reality, but police eventually arrived during the live broadcast. He believed that some of the viewers watching the broadcast had filed the complaint.
When the police appeared, Lee Ha-neul said, "Kids just report this again. They report when there is a YouTube live," and toward the camera he said, "We are not at a high decibel level, and it's being played inside the shop. You making busy public officials come and bothering them is a nuisance. It's a nuisance to the police."
Lee Ha-neul repeatedly explained the situation to the responding officers, saying the speaker's position in front of the camera caused a misunderstanding. While moving the camera, the police were briefly caught on screen, and the officers firmly said, "You must not film us."
Continuing, Lee Ha-neul angrily emphasized, "It's not a volume that causes nuisance to others. Because the speaker is in front, it sounds loud, so they report to make trouble for our shop. I feel bad making such a story for the police, but making busy public servants and police come and go is a nuisance."
He then told the police, "We'll be careful." Lee Ha-neul said, "The police cheered and left. Because I'm shooting right in front of the speaker, they think the volume is high, but it's not that loud. The police came and didn't even issue a ticket, these people who don't know romance," and made remarks mixed with profanity.
Lee Ha-neul reiterated the live situation, saying, "It's a residential area, but it's not a volume that would harm others. If it were a decibel level that would harm others, the people inside our shop wouldn't be able to have conversations."
Earlier in February at his shop, while holding an actor Kim Gyuri's fan meeting, Lee Ha-neul sang using sound equipment and was reported to the district office by some viewers for violating the Food Sanitation Act. At the time, Lee Ha-neul was upset that the false rumor "business closed for two months" spread, and it was reported that his shop's sales suffered damage.
