Actor Shin Ha Kyun revealed what led him to become an actor.
On the 16th, the YouTube channel Yoo Yeon-seok's 'Weekend Yeonseok Play' posted a video titled 'Our Ha Kyun hyung is...'.
That day Yoo Yeon-seok asked Shin Ha Kyun, "Around what age did you decide to become an actor?" Shin Ha Kyun said, "Actually, I think I had it in my heart little by little, but it came out of my mouth in the second year of high school."
He went on, "Isn't it exactly like that in high school. I worried a lot about my future, and I thought, why should I enter a university according to scores and live according to a department I don't want to study in?" he recalled.
Shin Ha Kyun explained, "What do I like? But since I was young I liked movies so much that I loved going to the theater, and from the moment I took the subway to go there my heart would race. Yes, that's it. I thought to myself that my future was there."
Yoo Yeon-seok asked, "But isn't that too vague? Suddenly saying I'm going to become an actor who appears there—" and Shin Ha Kyun replied, "I didn't specifically designate 'actor'; I wanted to study something related to that field. I thought it would be fun."
Shin Ha Kyun, who passed the exam without actually attending an acting academy, said, "My first acting was a practical exam. We didn't have an acting academy," adding, "At that time, there seemed to be many high school drama club friends. It was a period when high school theater was very active, and talented students from all over the country came."
Yoo Yeon-seok marveled, "You didn't prepare a free acting piece and just did something you had, and you could still get in, right?"
