Actor Kim Young-ok's husband, former KBS announcer Kim Young-il, has passed away.
On the 17th, a representative of Management Yunsan told OSEN, "The husband of actor Kim Young-ok, former KBS announcer Kim Young-il, has died."
Former announcer Kim Young-il passed away that day from an illness. He was 89. Kim Young-ok, listed as a chief mourner along with her children and grandchildren, is keeping vigil at the funeral hall.
During his lifetime, the deceased was praised for his steady delivery and dignified image while serving as a KBS announcer. He and Kim Young-ok were alumni of Chung-Ang University and formed a connection while participating in the broadcasting club.
Afterward, their relationship deepened when Kim Young-ok joined the Chuncheon broadcasting station in 1959, the predecessor of the KBS Chuncheon Broadcasting Bureau, as an announcer, and they married in 1960 when Kim Young-ok left the station and transitioned to being a voice actor. The couple raised three children—one son and two daughters.
The funeral hall has been set up at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 8 a.m. on the 19th, and the burial site is Donghwa Memorial Park.
