Actor Song Hyekyo exuded a distinctive aura that overwhelmed the continent. Her sincere attitude as an actor also drew admiration.
Song Hyekyo recently graced the cover of China's renowned fashion magazine Vogue China for the June 2026 issue, attracting the global fashion world's attention.
In the photo spread released on her official social media, Song Hyekyo, fitting the concept "a holiday in Paris," displays a classic yet graceful posture. Wearing a brilliantly shining tiara as she gazes at the camera, her eyes overflow with an irresistible, bewitching beauty. In another photo, she pairs a dress that highlights a slender shoulder line with striking red fur shoes, sensibly conveying contrasting charms and reaffirming the unchanging dignity of the "wannabe goddess."
Vogue China described Song Hyekyo by saying, "From Autumn in My Heart and Full House to Descendants of the Sun, and to The Glory, which opened the door to the Netflix era, she has been at the historical center of every moment that K-dramas extended beyond Asia to the rest of the world. For more than 25 years she has been loved worldwide and has maintained her place at the top," the magazine explained about Song Hyekyo.
Continuing her relentless pace, Song Hyekyo earlier this year completed filming the new drama 천천히 갈렬하게 after about a yearlong journey. This work is set against Korea's entertainment industry from the 1960s through the 1980s and depicts music, ambition and the turbulent changes of the era. In the drama, Song Hyekyo plays Minja, a character who fiercely struggles between reality and dreams and does not give in, and after living fully as that character for the past year she has signaled another astonishing transformation.
Although she is undeniably Korea's top actress, Song Hyekyo has always called herself "not a born actor" and maintained a humble and serious attitude. She still finds acting the most difficult and said, "Every character is a life I have not lived, so it is necessary to understand and study that person and gradually live as that person." She revealed this as her own acting philosophy. Such anguish and caution instead become the driving force that makes her fight hard at every moment. She entrusts extreme emotions such as repression, anger, hatred and pain that cannot be expressed in reality wholly to the character and sublimates them through acting.
Even when trophies from award ceremonies and the audience's cheers poured in, including the grand prize at the Blue Dragon Series Awards for The Glory, Song Hyekyo never became intoxicated.
