Oh My Girl (OH MY GIRL) group member Hyojung is heating up anticipation for her solo comeback by releasing a visual sampler like a coming-of-age drama.
Oh My Girl Hyojung's first digital single, "Purple Note," which will offer comfort with a refreshing early summer sensibility, will be released at 6 p.m. on the 21st on various online music sites. Ahead of that, Hyojung on the 14th and 15th through Oh My Girl's official SNS channels sequentially released visual sampler parts 1 and 2 for the new digital single "Purple Note" (퍼플노트).
The video, released in two parts, alternates between "Choi Hyojung" as a high school student fiercely nurturing her dream of becoming a singer and the present Oh My Girl "Hyojung," who has finally achieved that dream. The moving youth narrative, as if condensing Hyojung's actual life story, captures fans' attention.
In particular, the album title "Purple Note" is known to have been inspired by the name of the band club in which Hyojung actually performed as a vocalist during high school, adding a special meaning. Reflecting on the days she tirelessly ran toward her dream, she plans to deliver a message of comfort and support to today's youth.
Along with the visual content, parts of the unveiled new song melody also captivated listeners' ears. Sampler part 1 includes the refreshing yet exhilarating band sound of the title track "To my little youth," and part 2 features the warm and gentle acoustic melody of the track "Look Around," raising anticipation for the full song.
Above all, on this digital single Hyojung personally participated in writing and composing both the title track and the included track, filling it with sincerity. As Oh My Girl's main vocalist, known for her uniquely clear tone, attention is focused on how Hyojung will show a deeper musical spectrum and her side as a singer-songwriter through this solo release.
