Actor Kim Sa-rang was later revealed to have had an apartment in Gimpo seized.
On the 15th, the Sunday Newspaper reported that one apartment Kim Sa-rang owned in Gimpo, Gyeonggi, was seized by tax authorities in early last month due to national tax delinquency.
According to the real estate registry, Kim Sa-rang's apartment in Gimpo was seized by the Samseong tax office in Gangnam District, Seoul on the 6th of last month. The cause of registration was recorded as 'tax collection division.'
The publicly announced official price for the seized Gimpo apartment was about 366 million won as of January this year. The recent sale price is about 600 million won, but according to the National Tax Service, tax authorities carry out real estate seizures based on the "officially announced price," not the actual transaction price. Even if the delinquent amount is markedly smaller than the announced price, the entire property is subject to seizure.
Originally, Kim Sa-rang also owned one apartment in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam District, but no seizure details for that apartment have been confirmed. It is therefore presumed that tax authorities concluded collection of the delinquent amount could be achieved through the asset.
The tax office, however, said it could not provide details on the specific reason for the delinquency or the amount, citing the Personal Information Protection Act.
To confirm a position regarding this delinquency allegation, OSEN contacted Kim Sa-rang's agency, Leo International, but could not reach them.
Kim Sa-rang debuted in 2001 with the MBC drama 'Maybe It's Love' and appeared in the films Nam-Nam North-South, Perfect Man, and the dramas Thousand Years of Love, Secret Garden, My Love Eun Dong, and Abyss. However, she has not worked on any projects since TV CHOSUN's Revenge ended in 2021.
