ADOR and former NewJeans member Danielle met at the first hearing of a 43.1 billion won damages lawsuit.
On the 14th, the Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 31 held the first hearing in the 43.1 billion won damages lawsuit ADOR filed against Danielle, former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin and others.
That day ADOR criticized Danielle's side for prolonging the case and said, "The defendant cites Danielle's entertainment activities as a reason to quickly demand a faster pace of proceedings, but this is only a vague or psychological concern," and argued, "The plaintiff has never obstructed Danielle's activities, and it is logically contradictory to claim contract termination while simultaneously blocking activities."
ADOR added, "Even if the lawsuit continues, entertainment activities are not restricted, and it is difficult to see that there is an actual impact on activities."
When ADOR criticized Danielle's side for not submitting an evidence plan, Danielle's side said, "We apologize for not being able to submit the evidence plan yet. There were practical circumstances, but there was no intention to delay the case."
In particular, ADOR said, "This case focuses on matters after Dec. 2024, and the shareholder contract termination confirmation lawsuit deals with earlier matters, so the timing is different," and added, "The claim that everything was dealt with in the existing case shows a misunderstanding of the exact claim. This is a matter that requires new assertions and proof, and we will cooperate as much as possible for prompt progress."
Earlier, ADOR notified Danielle of the termination of the exclusive contract in Dec. last year and filed a damages lawsuit seeking about 43.1 billion won against Danielle, one family member of Danielle who sees ADOR as causing this dispute and bearing significant responsibility for NewJeans' departure and delayed return, and former CEO Min Hee-jin.
