The original voices that completed Studio Ghibli's emotional impact are coming to Seoul.
Studio Ghibli will hold the original singers' first visit-to-Korea concert, The Music of STUDIO GHIBLI Original Singers Symphony, on June 6 at Yonsei University Grand Auditorium in Seoul.
This concert includes many of Studio Ghibli's signature works that have been loved worldwide. The OSTs that resonated with the memorable scenes from works representing Studio Ghibli — My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, KiiiKiii the Delivery Witch, Howl's Moving Castle — will be reborn through vivid live performances by the four original singers and the majestic playing of the Tokyo Asia Orchestra.
Above all, this is the first time the original singers of Studio Ghibli works have gathered in one place to perform in Korea. This concert has special significance because it goes beyond a simple orchestral performance: the original singers, who completed the identity of Ghibli animation, will visit Korea in person to put on the show.
With their first visit to Korea, Shimamoto Sumi, Inoue Azumi and Yuyu sent a greeting video saying, "We are looking forward to meeting Ghibli fans in Korea. Let's definitely meet at this concert," conveying a special message.
A concert official said, "This stage will not simply reproduce the melodies on the sheet music; it will be an opportunity for the original singers to take the stage and rekindle the memories audiences felt while watching the works. We are preparing a masterpiece performance that will perfectly reproduce the original emotion and be enjoyed by all generations."
