The group's NCT member Taeyong will simultaneously release his first full-length album "WYLD" worldwide at 6 p.m. on the 18th and unleash raw dormant energy without restraint.
This full-length release, his first since a successful solo debut in 2023, consists of 10 tracks including the title track of the same name. In particular, Taeyong directly participated in producing all the album tracks, fully filling them with his distinctive musical identity and a deeper evolution that has drawn global fans' attention.
The title track "WYLD" compares Taeyong's confidence as he fearlessly moves toward his goals to the instincts of a wild animal. Heavy bass underlies punchy rapping to deliver a thrilling sensation. The performance is also an overwhelming viewing point: the intro where a trapped instinct awakens, a dynamic chorus choreography reminiscent of a predator, and the push-and-pull of unleashing and restraining energy combine to maximize the song's raw immersion.
This album vividly proves Taeyong's boundlessly expanded musical spectrum. It freely crosses genre boundaries with hip-hop track "Storm," jazz hip-hop "Hypnotic," the house-based "I'm a Dancing Cactus," pop and alternative rock "Run," and more. It also thoroughly incorporates honest inner narratives such as the signature series "404 Euphoria," the fan song "Mermaid," and the resolute "Skiii."
The storytelling in the teaser content adds to the comeback fever. Visuals of him destroying his own statue and roaming Seoul freely, and direction visualized with a rebellious mood, stamp Taeyong's own "Neo" identity. In particular, a navy character that wittily reflects his actual military service experience shows his firm aspiration to head into a new chapter with courage and conviction.
Before the official release, Taeyong will give fans an unforgettable time through offline events. From the 16th to the 18th, an exhibition at the Hyundai Card Music Library in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and listening sessions held on the 16th and 17th will allow fans to experience Taeyong's rich musical world in three dimensions.
