Comedian Sim Jin-hwa received a reading from a fortune teller saying "there is luck for a baby," prompting an outpouring of support from many people.
On the 13th the "A-grade Jang Young-ran" channel uploaded a video titled "A French fortune teller's shocking future for the Jang Young-ran family as seen in a crystal ball? (Alone in Paris part 2)."
In the video that day, Jang Young-ran visited a famous French fortune teller with Sim Jin-hwa. The fortune teller first served the two tea cups and coffee, and based on that conducted a Turkish coffee reading.
Looking at Sim Jin-hwa's tea cup, the fortune teller said, "I see something like wings or a bird," and predicted, "You will fly like a bird at your workplace." Then the fortune teller asked, "Do you have a fiancé or a married husband?" and Sim Jin-hwa answered, "I have a husband."
The interpreter conveyed the fortune teller's words, saying, "She says she sees a baby." Hearing this, Sim Jin-hwa was flustered and said, "That can't be. I'm 47," and Jang Young-ran rejoiced, saying, "You never know. You're healthy."
With a stunned expression, Sim Jin-hwa became teary after hearing, "She thinks a lot about her mother," and, "She sees that you want a baby and that you think about your mother."
Earlier Sim Jin-hwa had said on a broadcast, "From nursing my father's illness and starting to earn money, I felt so sorry for my mother that I couldn't bear to watch with my eyes open," and, "I hope she can live her life once," expressing her deep affection for her mother.
Meanwhile the interpreter said, "She said your mother worries a lot. She wonders if you are eating well and has those concerns," and Sim Jin-hwa said, "I eat very well." In addition, the fortune teller encouraged Sim Jin-hwa, saying, "Is there someone in your family who passed away? That person keeps sending messages. They say you're brave," which added to the emotional moment.
Sim Jin-hwa married comedian Kim Won-hyo in 2011. Since then the two have consistently tried, including attempting in vitro fertilization to have a second child, but they did not achieve good results due to unexplained infertility. Both spouses are healthy, so they have been frustrated by not knowing the cause.
Ultimately, last year Sim Jin-hwa calmly revealed, "We decided to live well without children. Thank you to the many people who cheered for us. You can stop cheering for our child now," which added to the sadness. Because many people know how desperately they wanted a second child, many expressed shared sorrow.
After the fortune said there is "luck for a baby" for Sim Jin-hwa, comments were filled with messages of support. However, some worried voices said that even such reactions "might be a burden" to the person involved.
