Comedian Lee Jinho, who collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage, has improved rapidly without surgery and is able to converse with acquaintances one month after regaining consciousness. However, more time is needed before he can be discharged.
On the 14th, OSEN reported that Lee Jinho collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage last month and was transferred to the intensive care unit in critical condition, but he recovered quickly with inpatient treatment without major surgery and is now concentrating on rehabilitation in a general ward.
Earlier, Lee Jinho was hospitalized in the intensive care unit on April 1 after a sudden cerebral hemorrhage. In the process, it became a topic of conversation that the person who first reported Lee Jinho to 119 was Kangin. Kangin called Lee Jinho that day, heard him losing consciousness and quickly made the report.
According to reports, the emergency responders who rushed to the scene were able to transport Lee Jinho to the hospital in time to preserve the golden hour. Lee Jinho regained consciousness nine days after being admitted to the intensive care unit and has been moved to a general ward to continue treatment.
In particular, Lee Jinho was found to be able to do more than recognize people around him one month after regaining consciousness from the cerebral hemorrhage; he is reportedly able to hold conversations.
According to officials, cerebral hemorrhage is one of the conditions that can cause long-term suffering if prognosis is not good, but in Lee Jinho's case he improved quickly, which reassured acquaintances. However, because treatment and rehabilitation are still underway, it is difficult for him to be discharged before completing all therapies.
Recently, with Lee Jinho's condition stabilizing, visits to the hospital have continued not only from Lee Yongjin, who was the first to visit the hospital, but also from fellow comedians who were close to him.
Meanwhile, Lee Jinho debuted in 2005 as an SBS comedian recruit and was loved for his role as "Woongi's father" on Laughing Finder. After appearing on Men on a Mission and Comedy Revenge, he confessed to illegal gambling in October 2024 and began a period of self-restraint. During that period he was also embroiled in several controversies, including being caught driving under the influence and falling behind on health insurance payments due to financial hardship.
