On the 13th episode of KBS 2TV's The Return of SUPERMAN (hereafter 'The Return of SUPERMAN'), the Son Minsu and Im Rara family met the 96-year-old great-grandmother.
That day Son Minsu and Im Rara set out early in the morning with their twin son and daughter. Son Minsu said, "This is the babies' first long-distance trip since they were born," and Im Rara explained the reason for going to Gapyeong, saying, "It's the longest distance in our children's lives. It's to meet someone special to me."
The special person was Im Rara's great-grandmother. Facing a meeting with her grandmother, who is 96 this year, Im Rara said, "I couldn't come to the wedding because I was unwell. I haven't shown her Gang-dan even after he was born. I last saw her three years ago, so it's been a very long time."
She said she was going to keep her promise to show her great-grandchildren she had made three years ago, and added, "It's the first time I've shown her the great-grandchildren, so I'm very nervous and curious about how grandmother will react."
Im Rara also said, "Dan and grandmother look very similar. When I was young, I almost lived here following my mother, but now that time has passed and I'm going to show her my great-grandchildren, it felt strange."
After finally meeting her grandmother, Im Rara said, "I feel like I'm going to cry," and her eyes welled up. The grandmother, seeing her great-grandchildren for the first time, could not take her eyes off them. Then Im Rara confessed to her grandmother, "I gave birth to twins," and the grandmother, saying, "It's hard to have one, and you had two? What a talent," expressed her joy.
Im Rara introduced Son Minsu to her grandmother, saying, "This is my companion. He came to greet you three years ago." The grandmother, seeing Son Minsu with yellow hair and a thin frame, unlike three years ago, burst into laughter and said, "But how did you have both? What a talent."
Later Im Rara said, "Seeing grandmother so pleased made me think it was good we brought them before it got too late. I felt like I was doing my duty as a child."
Meanwhile, Im Rara attempted baby food for the first time. With a trembling heart she fed the first bite, and first Kang-i smiled widely, surprising everyone.
