The principal cast of director Yeon Sang-ho's new film 'Gunchae,' officially invited to the midnight screening section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, will appear on the YouTube channel 'TteunTteun''s 'Pinggego' at 9 a.m. on Sat., May 16.
The principal cast of the highly anticipated film 'Gunchae' for the first half of the year—Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan and Ji Changwook—will appear on 'Pinggego' on Sat., the 16th. Jun Ji-hyun returns to the screen after 11 years, Koo Kyo-hwan will once again show a new face with unpredictable acting, and Ji Changwook perfectly conveys everything from bold action to delicate emotional acting. Through 'Pinggego,' the three will meet MC Yu Jae-seok and fellow guest Nam Chang Hee to cheerfully unpack not only behind-the-scenes stories of 'Gunchae' but also a variety of stories about the work.
Viewers who watched the pre-released trailer have already responded with eager anticipation, saying "wow the lineup is insane" (YouTube ba****), "finally seeing the Yu Jae-seok x Jun Ji-hyun pairing" (YouTube han*****), and "Gunchae… it's finally coming" (YouTube hwang*****), raising curiosity about the full episode. Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan and Ji Changwook are expected to give viewers pleasant laughs with their unique chemistry, witty banter and lively back-and-forth with Yu Jae-seok.
Earlier, in the trailer, Yu Jae-seok introduced Jun Ji-hyun as "a superstar who has been around for a long time," and Koo Kyo-hwan testified to Jun Ji-hyun's unexpected side, saying, "we danced locking together and the senior even went along" and "wasn't the senior a techno dancer?" In response, Jun Ji-hyun waved her hands saying, "don't," and Ji Changwook also elicited laughs by testifying, "the older sister got excited and screamed."
In particular, at the end of the video Jun Ji-hyun looked at Yu Jae-seok and said, "I remember you," and Yu Jae-seok happily replied, "You remember?" as they clasped hands, which also piqued curiosity.
Meanwhile, 'Gunchae,' which opens on the 21st (directed by Yeon Sang-ho, distributed by SHOWBOX, produced by WOWPOINT·Smilegate, co-produced by Midnight Studio), depicts a story in which survivors isolated inside a building sealed off by a mysterious infection fight against infected people who evolve into unpredictable forms.
