The 'The 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci,' which ended in splendor on the 8th, proved its explosive buzz by surpassing 5.19 million cumulative digital live stream viewers.
From the outdoor red carpet, resumed after seven years, to the main ceremony, the Baeksang's digital report card broadcast worldwide via Naver's CHZZK is dazzling. As domestic and international viewers enjoyed the ceremony through official channels and streamers' 'watch together' broadcasts, cumulative unique visitors reached 5.19 million.
This figure far surpasses last year's record. Peak concurrent viewers also exceeded about 80,000, an increase of more than 25,000 from the previous year. In addition, cumulative views of video content uploaded to Naver before and after the ceremony exceeded 100 million views, showing that the fervor did not cool even after the ceremony ended.
The biggest change at this 62nd ceremony was the newly established 'musical sector' to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Korean musical theater. With this, Baeksang was evaluated to have taken another step forward as a genuine 'comprehensive popular culture arts award' encompassing four sectors: broadcasting, film, theater and musical.
It solidified its identity as a celebration that breaks down genre boundaries and honors all areas of K-content.
The winners in each sector also drew attention. In the broadcasting sector, actor Ryu Seung-ryong took the grand prize, and the best actor and actress awards went to Hyunbin and Park Boyoung, respectively.
The grand prize in the film sector went to actor Yoo Hai Jin, and Park Jeongmin and Mun Ka-young shared the honors of the best acting awards.
In the musical sector, the historic first best work award went to "Mongyudowon," and the first acting award trophy was raised by Kim Junsu, proving the musical world's strength.
The Baeksang Arts Awards will continue cultural events linked to the film sector's 'Gucci Impact Award'.<
