'I'm SOLO' Season 31 contestant Sun-ja collapsed from stress-induced gastric cramps amid backbiting by Ok-sun and Young-sook, and unaware of this fact and that Kyung-soo's date right had disappeared, Young-sook appeared in a striking teaser saying "Should I sob once too?"
On the 13th episode of SBS entertainment show 'I'm SOLO - I'm SOLO' (hereafter 'I'm SOLO'), the contestants were shown concentrating on the super date acquisition game following the dates. Season 31's Young-su, Sun-ja, Jeong-hee, Kyung-soo and Kwang-su won the super date rights. In that day's super date game, master pansori singer Park Ae-Ri appeared in person, showcasing the charm and bearing of pansori at once and drawing admiration.
Sun-ja competed against Young-sook in a race. Sun-ja ran at her own pace while Young-sook surged forward; both had chosen Kyung-soo as their first choice and knew well whose heart Kyung-soo leaned toward. Also, Kyung-soo had already won a super date right.
Young-sook suddenly tripped as her foot caught on her own leg while coming in. Sun-ja did not know what to do, but when Young-sook hesitated and said "I'm okay," she continued ahead and won the super date right in first place.
But when Sun-ja returned, the sound of the conversation from the front room awaited her. Young-sook was seen with a scraped palm from falling, and Ok-sun praised her, saying, "You worked so hard. The first place in our hearts is Young-sook." Sun-ja tried not to listen, but having already heard the same front-room, not-really-front-room backbiting on the broadcast for more than two weeks, she could not help but be affected. Sun-ja curled up behind the door and remained motionless.
Young-sook expressed suspicion, saying, "Did I trip because I was caught on someone's leg?" Unable to hold back, Song Hae warned firmly, "No. That's not it." Defconn shook his head and said, "If Song Hae, who always protects female contestants, gets angry," indicating disbelief.
Eventually Sun-ja broke down in tears. The backbiting about Sun-ja by Ok-sun, Young-sook and Jeong-hee that had continued since last week kept going. Roommate Young-ja asked, "Why are you crying," and Sun-ja said, "My stomach hurts so much."
Meanwhile Kyung-soo considered having one-on-one dates with both Young-sook and Sun-ja. He asked the clearly pained Sun-ja if she could talk, and she agreed, entering the vacant room that happened to be Ok-sun, Jeong-hee and Young-sook's. Kyung-soo said, "If you're sick, lie down," but Sun-ja firmly refused, saying, "I don't want to lie down because it's not my room."
Kyung-soo said, "That's a somewhat selfish thing to say. I hope Sun-ja would use the super date right on me," but Sun-ja replied, "If Kyung-soo doesn't use it on me, that's Kyung-soo's will, and I wish you would rethink how you memorized that poem. I understand your feelings well."
Soon after, Sun-ja's stomach hurt so much that she collapsed and the production team intervened. Young-ja also rushed over in concern. Sun-ja burst into tears when she saw Young-ja. Unaware of the situation, Jeong-hee quietly stepped back, and Young-ja motioned for her to leave. After deliberation, Kyung-soo said, "I was going to use the super date right on Young-sook. But seeing the person who likes me a lot struggle, I feel like I want to focus on that one person," and told Young-sook he would choose Sun-ja.
Young-sook went to Jeong-hee and Young-sik and said, "Kyung-soo came and said he couldn't use the super date right on me. He said that after Sun-ja sobbed," adding with an incredulous expression, "Why did I run for this? Should I sob once too?"
Meanwhile, Ok-sun, who had secured screen time with active performances through last week, appeared only briefly in a short date scene with Young-ho and in the scene cheering for Young-sook while speaking loudly enough for Sun-ja to hear, drawing viewers' disappointment at her lack of other appearances in this episode.
