Singer Park Ji-hyun flaunted her family's once-immense wealth.
"Jun Hyun-moo plan 3" Jun Hyun-moo and Park Ji-hyun show a dazzling back-and-forth during a Samcheok food trip.
On the 31st episode of the full-fledged real street food documentary "Jun Hyun-moo plan 3" (MBN·Channel S·SK Broadband co-produced), airing at 9:10 p.m. on the 15th (Fri), Jun Hyun-moo–Gwak Tube (Gwak Jun-bin) and "trot prince" Park Ji-hyun head to Samcheok, Gangwon Province, where a scene is revealed in which they uncover a "real" local restaurant recognized even by residents.
That day Jun Hyun-moo enjoys his first meal heartily with a value-packed seafood spread at the Samcheok lightning market, then shouts, "Now it's time for Samcheok hanwoo!" In response Park Ji-hyun exclaims with rapid-fire reaction, "I just love meat so much~," drawing laughter. Shortly after, while heading to a 70-year-old hanwoo restaurant, Gwak Tube asks Park Ji-hyun in the car, "Where do you live?" Park Ji-hyun answers, "I live in Hwagok-dong." Hearing this, Jun Hyun-moo mentions an unexpected neighborhood connection, saying, "I lived (in that neighborhood) too," and Park Ji-hyun grabs his hand immediately, asking, "Really?"
He then confesses, "I studied abroad in China for a long time (when I was in elementary school). I did well in school (in Korea), but I missed out on education in China," eliciting a bittersweet laugh. He continues, "At that time my family was well off. We ran a Korean restaurant in China, put ads in newspapers and spent a lot of money," as he drifts into nostalgia.
While deep in study-abroad talk, the three arrive at the Samcheok hanwoo restaurant. When the owner sees Park Ji-hyun, he runs out wearing traditional socks and greets her, "Park Ji-hyun~," conveying the "trot prince"'s hot popularity. Thanks to that, the three are quickly secured and dive into a full hanwoo mukbang. There Park Ji-hyun declares, "I definitely love meat," revealing her firm love of meat, but Jun Hyun-moo playfully asks, "But you don't really know about meat quality, do you?"
He goes on, "This is when I feel (Ji-hyun) is young. The last time we took a half-body bath together, I submerged up to my neck but Ji-hyun only dipped her feet and said it was hot," he reveals. Park Ji-hyun retorts without a moment's hesitation, "It's not that I'm young, it's that you're an ajusshi," leaving Jun Hyun-moo dizzy.
Meanwhile, before debuting as a singer, Park Ji-hyun worked in the seafood industry with her mother from her early 20s.
Originally from Mokpo, Park Ji-hyun studied in China, ran a Korean restaurant, and afterward her family worked in seafood wholesale in Korea. Park Ji-hyun also worked there, building up professional skills and know-how.
He recently on a "Jun Hyun-moo plan" recording said, "I worked in seafood wholesale. I prepared more than 60,000 hongeo (fermented skate)," and upon seeing market fish added, "This is junchi~," even using a fluent dialect as he transformed into a "fish expert."
